Learn how to make this Scandinavian Tomte/Nisse Christmas Gnome. A traditional Nordic ornament.

A nisse (usually Norwegian/Danish) and a tomte (usually Swedish) are similar characters. They are both solitary, mischievous domestic sprites responsible for the protection and welfare of the farmstead and its buildings.

What you need:

Felt
Needle & Thread
Cotton Wool
Small beads [or something similar to weigh the body down]
Wooden bead
Faux Fur
Fabric Glue

    I'm so happy to find this ! I just had my DNA done in April and found out I'm 66% Scandinavian. Found my birth parents as well. Most of Father's side from Norway so Nisse's are in order !! I'd better gather supplies and get busy !! Thank you so much !!

    Thanks to your vid I have built my own project for norvegian gnomes, but I have a great doubt about the circular base: how much It have to misure respect to conic base? How do you misure the body and the base just to have the perfect base for that conic body? I have already tried several times, but I’m not able to fine the perfect misure of the circle for that body…

    What an interesting idea to make…if i´m not doing it right now is just because i don´t have materials at hand, i really liked this craft…

    Hmmm…maybe i will add some tools or stuff to them, maybe a basket with miniature food, or something..i don´t ´know for sure that i will try ´n make this nice gnomes once i have materials…
