You could really use some art or knick knacks or something to give your space personality, it’s giving off a pretty strong dental office waiting room vibe at the moment. The rug will help for sure, I’d go for something with a crazy pattern to liven things up.

    *obligatory knockoff eames chair remark

a tone between the sofa and floor would be decent. get anything too bright and it might blend in with the floor. a heavier thickness rug usually looks decent on tile. any color palettes you’re working with in your home, or all neutrals?

Can you post a photo of the full room?

I’ve never seen tiles in a living room before. Is that a thing where you live?

I was thinking a vintage Persian rug? Something like [this](http://www.metroretrofurniture.com/images/rugs/aam99darkcolorrug03.jpg)? I’ve seen them at local antique stores that were reasonably priced.

Something big and cozy, it’s so minimal it’s verging on a cold, reception area. Are you against a splash of colour or something vintage to contrast the modern Scandinavian style?

I know peeps are giving you stick for the cold bare minimalism you’ve got going at the moment, but I get that it’s not finished.

I say stay the course… You’ve got great taste and the teal rug you’ve picked out will be great, and I’m sure you’ll warm up the space quite a bit once you get your art hung, lamps/lighting sorted. Maybe throw some comfy cushions/soft blankets on the couch. The blue/white/wood theme will be cool but cozy.

That said, I’ve done the big-solid-coloured rug thing in my lounge, and it gets pretty tired quick… something with a bit of interest could be cool

This’d be my pick from that site…

I love this one, think a lot of people have it though.

This is an awful pic since the chairs will be in the dining space.

Imagine the sofa where the seats are. Then a 1 seater version of the couch where the sofa currently is in the pic. And the coffee table. What color rug should I use and should I use it to completely cover the tile?

What’s that sofa? Looks both comfy and beautiful.

I always like flatweave rugs, but that might not work on tile. What about something like [this]

Slightly off-topic, but how do you like that TB3 sofa? I’ve been considering their products recently, but I’m a little apprehensive about buying a sofa that I won’t be able to see in-person first.
