How to style a Bookshelf Scandinavian Style | Design Ideas for Decorating Your Room

Our rule number one when organising a bookshelf or case with a lot of books is to not over-think it. Beautifully styled bookshelves are more than decorative… off your favourite reads and keep them to hand.

Like paintings, bookshelves can be a beautiful focal point and make perfect wall decor – not only that, they’re brilliant conversation piece. In this video about bookshelf decorating ideas, we show you some of Scandinavia’s top classic reads (emphasis on Denmark in this edition) including Karen Blixen, Soren Kierkegaard and sassy avant garde Suzanne Brøgger who was at the forefront of the swinging 60s revolution.

We also show some of our pet hates in the bookshelf inspo sphere – books piled on top of each other and, almost worse….colour co-ordinated. What has that got to do with hygge?

What's on your bookshelf – are your books hidden away in boxes or are your displaying them on your shelves?
