How to make a Plywood Desk with Minimal Tools | Easy Woodworking Project

This week we are building us a desk! It’s been a while since we built a piece of furniture for us so it was quite nice. We needed a long desk so the two of us could sit and work at the same time. We also wanted a little bit of storage because the office doesn’t have any right now. The style we are going for is a little scandinavian and a little modern mix. Thank you guys so much for watching!

Good job! This desk looks great! And props to you guys for only using a few tools, I know I wouldn’t have the patience you did lol.

I’m trying to get my bf into woodworking and I feel like this is a great project to start with. I have tools but they are all at my home states away while he has none. So now I’m scouting videos where we can make stuff on minimal tools & beginner friendly. It’ll take us some time but I’m very sure we can get this done with a chisel, hand planer, nails, hammer & hand saw. Thank you for the inspiration!

Don’t pay attention to the negative comments! For a beginner in woodworking, the tools you provided were definitely minimal. They probably thought of minimal hand tools (no power tools edition).

Great job. How old are you two? Are you siblings or married? Sorry for the weird questions. I just came across your channel and really like it. 👍

from 1 to 10 I would judge as 5 but I like it. And young lady could help to open a door when young man was entering the room… ahemm

Such a waste of wood. Probably could've built the whole desk from a single sheet, if not 2, of plywood and without having to cut out 29 strips.

    Great project!!!

Great video! A piece of foam under those boards you're using a circular saw on would make your life a lot easier

tools are minimal enough. well done.. to complainers, if you can't afford this much of tools you should not try to build anything because you gonna waste your time and energy.

Change the title "with Professional Tools" instead of "with Minimal Tools", because it confusing people !!

I like the simplicity of your design. Just curious, why did you cut strips for your top instead of using the finished surface of your ply? I'm about to build a desk and have 3 sheets cabinet grade walnut in the shop ready to go.

There was never a section of this where 3+ tools werent used.

    ….. wasting my time

  21. November 2, 2018 at 10:12 pm

this is amazing & such high quality due to using real materials; instead of all the cardboard stuff you get from like an ikea.. Haven't even though about being able to build something like a desk myself; thanks for the reminder. 😀
