Another way to thread that yarn is to fold over needle squeeze and pull off the needle and then put through the eye of the needle.

Hey how are you? I've been really getting into intarsia. These are beautiful. My aunt many years ago made stockings similar to yours except she had the names on them. The top wasn't gathered either. I think she made them from a kit. She now can't knit anymore due to MS. Thanks will check out your website. Merry Christmas!

I'm not sure what it is called when you use both fingers on both hands to cast your yarn from, but on the left hand it is continental and right hand it is english

I am not a knitter, yet, but plan to learn soon. (I’m a newbie crocheter.) Watching you knit is like watching pure magic! It is mesmerizing.

I would love to see an entire book of Christmas stockings Arne, that hand made notebook looks like a sweet treasure of patterns, notes, ideas, and memories! This is my second video I’ve seen where you talk about dominant color; it is a thing in Norway too, I’ve seen it mentioned in a few patterns from Norwegian designers. I think the main idea is that IF you have a different tension between your 2 strands of yarn, make sure to hold the same color in the same hand throughout your project so the tension remains the same for the pattern color and the background color, otherwise your knitted fabric will be very uneven. I knit in the German/American way and my stitches that I knit with my left hand are looser (probably because I don’t have the same strength in that hand as I do in my right hand which is my dominant hand). I’ve tried tensioning the yarn differently to try to correct this difference but I’m not always successful so until I get there, it is helpful to be mindful that it can exist and how to deal with it.

I have tried to use a color of yarn in each right and left hands did not like it at all. I knit colors the same way Arne does.

The the US, the ‘dominant’ color is the ‘prominent’ color or the ‘foremost’ color or ‘main’ color.

  23. September 19, 2019 at 6:36 pm

In the States, the 'dominant' color is simply the color that you are using the most of.
