I have seen an interview with the architect, who is also the owner and part-time resident of this cabin. IIRC the point of this cabin is to take in as much of the forest as possible and keep everything else to minimum. The cabin is quite small, has these wall size windows to every direction, looks extremely exposed and ascetic all around and in the cabin, you would be deeply in contact with the four immensely contrasting seasons of Finnish nature. The architect said he thought the surrounding peaceful wild forest was the biggest asset in the project so he emphasised it.

I’m not sure if I would learn to enjoy this myself, but find it truly interesting, thoughtful and skillful architecture.

Call me crazy but… Although this cabin is beautiful at first glance and I am always a fan of Scandi Min, this is not a cabin I would enjoy. The seating is facing a blank wall and far from the heat and most importantly, the windows would make one feel exposed in the wilderness so close to the ground at night.
