Dont have a fireplace but i do have an electric stove. I grew up with warm morning heaters and my little stove gives me the flames without the mess. Love all these ideas so Mich

Great video! I want to add that color adds a lot to the overall coziness of the room. Painting your walls a very light blue/grey/beige will add coziness to any room. That doesn’t mean your whole room should be monotoned in grey and white, but adding these elements, along with other warm colors will add extreme coziness to your space.

Weiking says that the Danes dislike scented candles, as they consider them artificial. I am not Danish myself, but I looked up the names of Danish designers that he mentions, and the furniture they've designed looks like the opposite of what Hygge is supposed to be. Danish designers like Hans Wegner, Finn Juhl, Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen have furniture and lamps that look cold, sterile, uncomfortable, and uninviting. A hygge chair is supposed to be cozy, right? Not something that looks like you'd get painful ankle bones from sitting with your legs folded into the chair after a few minutes, and that you definately wouldn't be able to fall asleep in. The lamps are plain, and look like that they can be cleaned of all dust with one wipe of a damp cloth. An ornate lamp made of products from nature, such as driftwood, or stone, or himalayan pink salt, would take more time to clean of all dust. Danish interior design looks like minimalist modern stuff, not stuff with a story to tell. That's why I don't understand why he says that most Danes have AT LEAST ONE lamp by famous Danish designer whatever-his-name-was. How the heck can you make a cozy atmosphere with furniture like that?
