Perhaps some plants and more wooden furniture, for example a wooden coffee table? Not a too dark kind of wood though ๐Ÿ™‚ natural materials are always a great addition, perhaps some linen pillow cases or some rattan or woven baskets. it looks great already though, and the colours are pretty spot on! Greetings from a Danish girl ๐Ÿ™‚

The rug feels like the wrong size. Perhaps itโ€™s a good opportunity to get a larger rug in white or a natural material. All the furniture is dark, so if there is anything super cheap you can just swap out for something lighter, that would help. The sofa has room to come forward about 4-6 inches to allow the curtains to drape properly. Maybe bring in a round coffee table like this:

Great foundation and you’re halfway there! My suggestions would be a larger floofy white rug. The rug should be big enough that the front feet of the sofa lays about a foot on the edge and extends to maybe 6 or so inches from the TV stand. Replace the heavy drapes for soft and flowy window sheers and move the sofa away from the sheers to allow them to move. Maybe add a light, simple coffee table with votive candles. I would add a few more plants. I think another three would go a long way here. A tall one for the corner behind the couch. A falling vine type plant on the mantel. A low growing spreader in a wide, shallow, interesting, ceramic pot on the coffee table.

Check out Benita Larsson on YouTube, she is in Stockholm and her style is amazing.
Side note love all the light in your place.

Canโ€™t comment too much in the furniture, but get white outlet covers, a lot of going on for the eye even though thereโ€™s not too much furniture.

Mirror is too small for above the fireplace. Lamp is too short and needs some color on the lampshade. Get a few round pillows for the couch with more color contrast. I also think the rug should be a different color and have a pattern of some kind on it. Maybe a small round coffee table or round nesting tables. Lift the curtain rod higher towards the ceiling and paint your walls a cooler neutral color so the fireplace stands out. Also add some artwork on the walls.

I think the mantle needs symmetry.

    1) the tv is way too big for that space; however, maybe put it to the left of the fireplace between the curtain. Turn your couch that direction to make your fireplace the focal point. Pushing furniture up against walls makes the room look smaller.

    2) A much bigger rug. Area rugs should define an area, meaning it should protect your wood from furniture. If this is not in budget, by turning the couch towards the fireplace but not turning the rug, it will lengthen the size of the living room.

    3) Add more texture – someone suggested a shag white rug, a nice wood coffee table. Def. I suggest to add a display to the right of the fireplace and some more decoration on top of the mantel. Maybe a mirror that is not round but rectangular over the fireplace. I personally would go for monochromatic paintings on top of the fireplace and put the mirror on the wall right of the fireplace.

    4) I see you might have a cat post? Maybe put that to the right of the fireplace and put the mirror above it. It will make it a feature rather than something to hide.

    5) A big throw.

    6) Lighting. Even if you rent you can change out your overhead lighting if you have access to your fuse box. However, maybe put a tall lamp behind the couch, another lamp on the mantel, and candles on the mantel.

    6) I dont see anything that shows us your personality or tastes.Scandi does not have to be stark minimalism. I am sure you have something you love you want to display ๐Ÿ™‚

    7) Hide those cords. Cord boxes and sleeves are all over amazon.

Just adding to the above comments! I really think you should move up the curtains all the way up in the roof. Makes the room feel bigger + sheer curtains

The Rod should be aligned with the roof so it makes the window feel larger. Sorry for bad English haha
